EEECO extensometers use three kinds of linear measuring systems: mechanical and electronic dial gages, Linear Variable Differential Transformers (LVDT),and linear encoded devices.The dial gages are simple and require no auxiliary equipment .The LVDT is highly precise, infinitely variable and provides electronic signaling through readout devices to your computer or plotter.The encoded devices are self contained for long-range measurement and generate a usable signal for recording.
All of the extensometers are designed in a linear fashion to avoid typical cosine error and the resultant need for mathematical correction.
Typical instrument design features provide for ease of clamping, changes in gage length and range, specimen configuration, and separability under specimen failure. In addition the instruments can be adapted for testing a large variety of materials such metals, plastics rubber wood concrete and composites etc.
